Frida and Diego

The first illustration is a mix between two paintings: Frida standing beside her husband Diego, and a self-portrait with monkies (the monkies represent her students).

Frida in her wedding dress

The second illustration was inspired by the painting of Frida in her wedding dress. The original painting is a portrait (does not show the legs), so I imagined the rest of her body fitting in a triangle.

The two illustrations were printed life-size, with a hole instead of Frida's and Diego's face, so you can can take a picture with your face on Frida's and Diego's bodies.

I had the chance to create two interpretations of Frida Kahlo's work, for the new exhibition of Frida Kahlo's art,
at the National Art Museum of Quebec.
